1878-07: Farny Sketch for “The Girl Who Saved the General”

The July 1878 issue of St. Nicholas Magazine included Farny’s sketch for Charles H. Woodman’s true account of how a little girl saved future War of 1812 General John R. Fenwick’s life when he was a baby.

The July 02, 1878, issue of the Port Jervis Evening Gazette, out of New Jersey, page 2, column 1, complimented the work by Farny.

Farny’s sketch appeared with the caption, “Onward with her precious burden, through shot and shell,” on page 576 of the July 1878 issue, volume 5, number 9
