Henry Farny illustrated some of the images in this 98-page Christmas booklet, Round About a Grocery Store, Jacks Voyage Around the Globe, given away by Jos. R. Peebleās Sons Co., a business incorporated in mid-1888 and located, like Farny at the time, in Pike’s Opera building in downtown Cincinnati. While filled with stories, the booklet also includes six pages of ads in the back.
For unknown reasons, Dr. William Venable wrote this book under the pseudonym “Clara Furnace” (Dec. 19, 1888, The Cincinnati Times-Star, page 6, column 1):

A.C. Strobel, who was married to Farny’s youngest sister, Marguerite, and worked at the Rudolph Wurlitzer company, was also involved in producing this book. (Dec. 17, 1888, The Cincinnati Post, page 1, column 4). Farny’s older sister, Leonie, was married to Rudolph Wurlitzer.

Other than the original art on the cover page, the other Farny images were used in other works (which I hope to link to at some point). The booklet includes additional images from other artists reflecting places around the world.
