1880: “The Union of American …” Illustrations

In 1880 poet John James Piatt released a massive 742 page tome of poetry that included 300 illustrations titled “The Union of American Poetry and Art“. Farny contributed a few illustrations to Piatt’s book. There was also an 1882 version produced, which is where I found the below images. At least one reviewer believed the book one of the most beautiful ever produced in America.
